INSTRUCTIONS

  • Surface Preparation

Always test on a small area first to determine performance, reaction time, substrate compatibility and material requirements! Cover and tape up any surfaces not to be treated, plastics (piping, wiring, windows etc.) as well as plants. Wear appropriate protective clothing and safety goggles when working.

  • Methods of Application

Stir well – do not thin. Apply generously and evenly with a brush or trowel and cover immediately with a thin foil (e.g. polythene dust sheets) and allow for sufficient reaction time (depending on project a few minutes/several hours/possibly overnight). Test stripping performance occasionally with a trowel. Always remove dissolved coating layer at the optimal time. Do not leave Osmo Paint Stripper on substrates for longer than necessary. Reaction time depends on the coating type, coating thickness and ambient temperature. Remove the soft dissolved layer with a trowel and rinse with water (if possible warm, approx. 40 °C). In some cases, it may be necessary to repeat the application.

  • Note

In indoor areas, always work with foils and ventilate well. Not suitable for highly crosslinked lacquers, such as 2-component DD coatings or epoxy resin coatings.

Top Tips

Top Tips:

  • Allow wood to dry thoroughly (approx. 24-48 hours) before applying a new surface coating. Lower temperatures and/or higher air humidity may increase drying times.
  • Some stains may be stubborn to remove, especially on very absorbent timbers whereby the colour has penetrated deeply. Sanding may be required to remove very stubborn stains.
  • To help rinse the surface back with warm water, try using an appropriate abrasive nylon pad.
  • Always test on a small area first to determine performance, reaction time, substrate compatibility and material requirements! Cover and tape up any surfaces not to be treated, plastics (piping, wiring, windows etc.) as well as plants. Wear appropriate protective clothing and safety goggles when working.

Osmo Paint Stripper is a powerful, low odour, universal paint stripper for solvent-resistant substrates. Thanks to its long open time, it can dissolve several layers of lacquer or varnish in one work step. The paint stripper gel is free of aromatic compounds and chlorinated hydrocarbons.

Dissolves and removes synthetic resin lacquers, 1-component lacquers, dispersion and latex paints, oil finishes and wood stains, dispersion glues, polymer plasters etc. on solvent-resistant substrates (wood, metal, mineral substrates, such as render, concrete or stone). It has a mild odour and therefore it can be used on large areas in both indoor and outdoor areas.
