  • Overview

    Osmo Hardener for Express acts as an additive for Osmo Polyx®-Oil Express for accelerated drying. The drying time is shortened from 2-3 hrs to just 1-2 hrs by simply pouring the contents of the hardener into the 2.5L can of Polyx®-Oil Express and stirring thoroughly prior to application.

  • Methods of Application

    Add Osmo Hardener for Polyx®-Oil Express completely to the can of Polyx®-Oil Express (2.5 litre) and stir so that both components are mixed well. Further processing to be carried out corresponds to that of Polyx®-Oil Express.

    Note: Pot time is reduced down to approx 90 minutes by adding the Hardener. Please do not mix together more material than you can process with certainty within 60 minutes. If you do not require the entire can of Polyx®-Oil Express, add 6% Hardener – mix in a separate container!

  • Surface Preparation

    The surface preparation before use of Osmo Polyx®-Oil Express are not influenced by the application of the hardener additive. These are valid without any restrictions. For this purpose, please observe the product information for Osmo Polyx®-Oil Express. The finished surface is influenced by several factors, including the condition of the wood. Therefore, a trial application is always required, especially for unfamiliar surfaces.

  • Note

    The Hardener accelerates drying yet does not increase the final hardness of the product. Allow 2-3 weeks for Polyx®-Oil Express to fully cure. Osmo Hardener for Polyx®-Oil Express should only be used for the Polyx®-Oil Express product. Avoid adding to other products.

Top Tips:

  • Pot time is reduced down to approx 90 minutes by adding the Hardener. Please do not mix together more material than you can process with certainty within 45 minutes. If you do not use the entire can of wood finish, add 6 % Hardener – mix in a separate container.
  • A top coat of Osmo Polyx®-Oil Express can be used 24 hours after application of a first coat of Polyx®-Oil Tints or Wood Wax Finish, should you wish to add colour to your flooring
